The election tomorrow should either make me or break me. Obama sell off or McCain rally is my WAG. I am proudly voting 3rd party I hope you have the moral courage to do the same.

A prudent man seeth the evil, and hideth himself; But the simple pass on, and suffer for it.

RE: Argentina

first thanks for posting that, that was a really riveting story and gave lots of good practical advice SHTF or not.Pretty frightening, I ahd forgotten that had happened down ther.I remember hearing about it at the time...

Second just wanted to say the author is 100% on the money about how you would get robbed etc in normal times and SHTF As someone who has been robbed and mugged unfortunately several times I vouch that you never can tell by looking at the person and they certainly won't let you know 200 yds away. 9 times out of ten your would be assailant attempts to get you when you aren't looking whether when you are opening the door to your house or picking an item for them off the shelf in a store.

Rule number 1 in protecting yourself is to never let someone get the drop on you. Having a weapon wouldn't do you much good if someone has a 22 planted in the small of your back (or Head or wherever).

"Short BAC and buy commodities."

My favorite part was when he said "I'm not sure why the dollar is rallying, must be short covering. I'm terrible at timing. It's going a lot further than I expected."

Besides your timing sucking, it's not the politicians that don't know economics, it's you Rogers.

AresFinancial, what's your reasoning for posting this?

Tastylunch,

Good to thear from you. I do like the Argentina write up. I will probabbly post it again. I will take a look at the link. I have been robbed before a couple of times. It is not fun.

dangerfairy,

Jim Rogers is a Ron Paul supporter and his track record when partenered with George Soros on the Quantum fund beats everyone including Buffett.

FYI - Rogers and Soros founded the Quantum Fund. During the following 10 years the fund gained 3,365% while the S&P advanced about 47%. It was one of the first truly international funds.

Rogers also has two books Bull in China, Investment Biker and a Book on Commodities.

When Jim Rogers talk, you listen. Believe whatever you want, but Rogers is a proven Market Wizard and a straight shooter.

Jim Rogers has another book, "Adventure Capitalist", which documents his second land-trip around the world. He's arrogant & opinionated, but he's walked the walk and called the commodities bull market in in 2000 - Perfect timing there.
