John Stewart Hammers Nails

July 15, 2009 – Comments (6) | RELATED TICKERS: TST

We here at FoolHQ have been enthralled with the turbulent investing career of Lenny "Nails" Dykstra.  You can see previous blog coverage of it here:

Well it turns out we aren't the only person who found the topic noteworthy.  Below is a clip from last night's Daily Show where John is stunned by Lenny's fall from investing guru (plus he couldn't help taking a shot at CNBC nemesis Jim Cramer).

Lenny Dykstra is the living version of Lennie from Of Mice and Men, discuss.

See the SparkNotes analysis of Lennie's character. It's sort of eerie:

His enthusiasm for the vision of their future farm (market millions) proves contagious as he convinces George, Candy, Crooks, (Cramer, Cramer, and er Cramer) and the reader ( readers -- zing!) that such a paradise might be possible. But he is a character whom Steinbeck sets up for disaster, a character whose innocence only seems to ensure his inevitable destruction.

Remember Lenny the centerfielder.

That is a remarkable comparison. I love(d) both Lennie, and Lenny.

Oops.  I misspelled Jon as John not once, but twice.  Pretty unforgivable, since I watch the show every night.

That's pretty funny, especially now that the Farm Lennie dreamed about would now be bought and paid for with Cap and Trade Carbon Credits.  LOL.  Or, better yet, biodiesel and wood chip sent to the local Wood Burning Electric Power Plant.

That's a damn sight better than GS has know going broke and all last Fall and needing Government money to stay afloat.  And they are the brightest?  Apparently not.
