July 22, 2013 Benchmark Investing (BI) Selections
There are several stocks to discuss this week and one position I am closing. Here is a snapshot of this week’s activities.
This week’s candidates:
EA– one of only a few equities that still qualify as a stock to Buy Long using the BI methodology. Purchased over a year ago, remains a hold or adding to your existing position at these levels. Decision: Add + Hold
CPB– a previous short position that has gone in the wrong direction. Based on the fundamentals I regret getting into this position. On the other hand, I read recently that the Short positions have increased dramatically on CPB. Will hold a bit longer then likely exist the position if it doesn’t turn soon. Decision: Hold
TSN– a previous Long position that has worked out well. Recommendation is to Sell due to the rapid price escalation and future prospects moving forward. Decision: Sell
SWY– a Long position take a short while ago, will continue to hold for at least a year. Decision: Hold
No other points to review.
Every week a refresh of key financial data, stock prices, and economic data are evaluated. This information is analyzed using Kenneth Lee's selection process as described in “Trouncing the Down". Individual stocks are selected based on their relative valuation and are determined to be severely under or overvalued.
Each week a broad set of stocks are considered to be bought, sold, or held as part of the process. Also indicated is if the pick is a Long or Short candidate as well as if it is a New or Current holding.
Tickers discussed here: EA, TSN, SWY, CPB
