The Us Gov't can prop up pensions directly if it wishes, rather than through bailing out banks. It can also do business lending directly like it did with automakers.

My Senators lines are busy and capitol switchboard is taking forever to pick up. Think people are calling to voice their approval?

I called mine.  :)  It felt good! And apparently plenty of people are doing so, since the Congresscritters keep referencing the vociferous opposition of their constituencies all around the country. Wow... are Americans ACTUALLY engaging in the political process??????

As I had said in my Blog: Stop Blogging, write to your Senator and Congress Person. I wrote to both NJ Senators; Lautenberg and Menendez and my NJ House Representative Ferguson.  Thanks to devoish for the Capitol Switchboard telephone number.  I am tired of the lies, malfeasance, misfeasance, outright fraud and deception that our elected officials continue to perpetrate on the American public.

Yeah I had to call my congressman's VA office because his DC office voice mail was full last night. I do think the switchboards are lighting up.

I just saw Congressmen Brown and Putnam on television arguing about what plan should be passed. I called them and told them no plan should be passed and if they believe Business's need loans to keep people employed then they should supply those loans directly and not give the banks a cut.

Brown 202 225 4101

Putnam 202 225 1252

Neither is my congressman.
