Knee Jerks hurt
I look at the stocks of two profitable companies, SWHC and RGR and can't help, but wonder if their recent fall isn't creating a great opportunity. They are both set to have record sales in the short to mid term, and realistically upcoming laws (misguided as they may be) will fuel sales in the short term and have little effect during the long run.
Take for instance, the much talked about "assault weapon ban" that expired in 2004. The same rifle was available during the ban, minus (a flash supressor, bayonet lug, folding stock). Functionally, the rifle was the same. "Higher capacity" magazines brought a premium but were still available pretty much everywhere. Where's the impact to the bottom line? It's not really there.
