RELATED TICKERS: REV
this holiday season and boost its eps this qtr thru the roof. You can't go wrong buying Revlon makeup, especially considering everyone is going cheap this holiday season.
LOL good stuff and one rec but I have 3 sisters and say women rarely go cheap on most make up.
Just dumped 25% of my portfolio in Revlon this week.
If you look on a full Revlon chart, 11 years ago it was $500 you know.
I'm allergic to most makeup so it is fortunate that I'm naturally gorgeous. LOL. I don't know anyone who raves about Revlon among my acquaintance. Perhaps I need more friends! Now Bare Escentuals is another matter among my younger co-workers. However, I would say that my workplace is fully infiltrated by Avon. It is hard to beat the "directly to your desk COD delivery." A few do use Mary Kay, but we all love the Avon Christmas catalog with the cute jewelry and adorable ornaments.
Investment in a already dood stock, is OK
But investing in a cheap ctock, on the way up, is a lot better
I don't know? We may be losing our influence. Motley had a article today saying REV was about to plunge and instead its spiking not plunging.
It's called the "because I said so" effect.... I could speak and a stock could be one-starred overnight. It's very CAPS Mafioso-like....
For the trifecta, since I've hit up all of your Revlon blogs and posts today... Revlon is a garbage stock. Their profits are all that keep them from a swift and steady bankruptcy. There is no underlying value in the company, they basically eat to pay their debts which are growing. They extended financing on some of this debt at the expense of HIGHER interest rates..how is that cost cutting exactly???
Andrey, for your sake, I hope that REV makes it into a lot of stockings this year. (I thought I read something elsewhere about REV having high debt but I might be mistaken, and I don't know what is normal debt levels for cosmetic companies.) Rev your engines REV. Give us some upside!
I had a blog earlier about cheering up out-of-work friends with an appointment to a hair stylist. Makeovers can also be fun and effective at taking one's mind off immediate issues. A new look can sometimes make a difference in one's outlook.
Revlon could get a makeover, but it still doesn't change the fact that it got hit by every side of the ugly stick on its fall from the top of the tree!
ps... couldnt help myself....
You have probably noticed, stocks that go up, not always the best stocks.
But they do go up a lot higher, than they should. Why?
I think, while stock is on the move, people just go for a ride
It's all technicals and momentum...we've seen garbage stocks taking the brunt of the down movement over the past two weeks. I give Revlon a short amount of time before traders tire of it. It's a simple distinction between investments and quick trades.
Told you all its going to $20 now you can all eat my crow.
Good call IBD
