Looking for Shoes
I was part of an on-line group several weeks ago discussing the accuracy of financial information presented by many on-line financial sites.
It was fairly unanimous that the new worst of the worst was Reuters, followed by Yahoo, MoneyCentral, and ClearStation.
During the course of the conversation I commented that many of the financial websites being discussed, (only a few of which I was even knew existed) bought their information from Reuters. Where Reuters got it I had no idea.
This revelation seemed to shock a number of folks. They had no idea that the information was not produced by the presenting website. The discussion that followed lead me to search for an alternate, and hopefully independant, source for company financial information.
My first stop was Schwabb. They have great financial information from several different sources. After reviewing the information Schwabb had available, I decided that for my purposes, the best was from Comstock.
My quest now was to find a website that purchased company financial information from Comstock, and offfered to the investofus for the restofus crowd...FOR FREE.
I think I may have found it. The site is UK based ADVFN Financials. While there are a number of ads, in my opinion this is a serious site for serious investors.
From what little I know about investing outside of my personal investing philosophy, I think this site may be of value to any investor, regardless of what the investment might be.
While it truly does bother me to post links to other financial websites from within Fooldom, I just felt that the opportunity for the regular guy investor to use a broader base of financial information in their due diligance was...more important.
