Back in December I wrote a blog prognosticating about my top 3 home run picks for 2011.  Batter up!  The first of the 3 has already been hit. 

Today Lucas Energy announced the completion of a 2nd well in the Eagle Ford deposit, which they estimate will increase their net production by as much as 150 bopd.  The stock is up as much as 40% on the news.

When I decided to buy this yesterday evening, I thought I could get it for around 2. When I actually bought today there had been 9 million shares traded already. Can't believe I missed 30% overnight.

Thanks for the comments.  The stock ended the day up almost 80% from the previous close!  I think it could easily double from here (and probably will pull back first) so its not too late to get in.  The stock closed yesterday at $2.09 and ended the day at $3.75.

It's trading around $4.17.  It's run a lot.  You could buy in early Monday, and put up a tight stop loss on it, you could lose a few percent, but with momentum and the way people jump on these stocks it could go up another 25-100 percent, seems like a good play with a tight stop.
