I would just like to get the CAPS community feedback on LUNA (currently not ratable).  I first found this company when it signed a developement contract with ISRG, since then I picked up a small position in my RL portfolio and I'm in no rush to sell any shares just as long as Kent Murphy is running the company.  LUNA is a development stage company with mostly governement related contracts.  However, it's lead by quite an interesting person, Kent Murphy - his story is a twist on the move "Good Will Hunting"  (http://www.virginiabusiness.com/edit/magazine/yr2001/sep01/luna.html).

Since the ISRG development contact LUNA has been tinker on a building a better mousetrap for  MRI contrast agent http://www.nanowerk.com/news/newsid=5545.php

"The MRI contrast agent market is reported to be more than $1 billion annually and is currently dominated by gadolinium chelate-based agents which are the subject of class-action lawsuit concerns due to the potential release of gadolinium into the body."

LUNA is also innvolved within Nanotechnology...another breakthrough recently occured.

http://www.nanowerk.com/news/newsid=5051.php Nanomedice that affects hair growth! Which is also a multi-billion dollar market.

My thoughts are very shortly, one of LUNA's products is going to hit the big time....they are also working on several other projects and my guess is we'll see profitability by 2009-2010.  You don't get many chances to get in on the ground floor...

There are a ton of searches that come out with nanotechnology and hair. Only they are comparing the size, wild goose chase.

So off the top of the head, I would say that there is a good chance that LUNA will see some good returns with the tech, only concern would be the studies that showed possible cancer related issues with nano.

I think there are some companies using nano for chemo therapy or they are starting to try it. All this sounds good, but I think we are just scratching the surface with all the new innovative ideas.

At this point I would give you a thumbs up for growth:)

here is the link for their filings, which is what I would look at first for reserves and backlog. It looks alright from where I am sitting. No issues with the bank. Decent outlooks.

Wow we are getting a ton of feedback on this one. I thought caps even had people that worked at making comments and getting discussions going. I guess the IHI theory really isn't what it was cracked up to be. Sorry grider. Good luck with your positions.

LUNA will be taken over or receive "white knight" or angel venture capital.  The settlement will be reduced, mitigated, financed.

There is value and it will recover
