Do you remember the Simspon's episode where Grandpa was credited by Bart and Lisa for writing an episode of Itchy & Scratchy? Do you remember this exchange? Bart Simpson: "Didn't you wonder why you were getting checks for doing absolutely nothing?" Grampa Simpson: "I figured because the democrats were in power again." Well, here it comes ... the mortgage subsidy from the current Democrats in power, for all the interventionist do-gooders out there with good intentions - hear this and hear this now - there is abuse in EVERY federal program - and here's today's example - subsidizing mortgages. Yes, even our good colleague DaretothREdux (just what does that mean anyway?!?) used this one for all of us to subsidize his home somewhere in Rand Paul Land (formerly know as "just west of West-Byrd-Ginia").

So, Statists, Progressives, or High-Exalted Among Us Who Claim to Know Better: In trying to cure social ills, or perceived injustice, you've supported a policy which steals from me and hands out to others, some of whom are criminals. Nicely done. Are you proud of your tinkering?

Smaller government means less spending. A much better formula.
