October 04, 2008 – Comments (5)

Out of town, in Minneapolis, running 26.2 tomorrow at 8 a.m., or trying.

Forecast is for 40%-60% chance o' rain.

Any of you that know a sundance or have some pull with the man upstairs, I don't mind cloudy, but can we hold the waterworks until after 1 p.m. or so?

Another day like today would be perfect.

See you next week, a bit creakier.

Cool.  I did two marathons in 2000, disney world, which I recommend, and Portland.

I have to tell you my half marathon story...

I suppose this was about 10 years ago now and I am a dead slow runner.  I just used to do it to be out there.  Well, it is in the couple hour range and me and another woman I'd been running and chatting with were coming up to the finish line.  I suppose there were a couple thousand people around the finish line and as we were a few hundred meters from the finish line the crowd was cheering like crazy.

We look at each other and comment that it is an incredibly supportive crowd.  So, we straighten our form out, pick up pace a tad, heads as we approach our finish.

Well, 50 meters to the end and zoom, the first marathon finisher whizzes past us and we look at each other and and at the same time, "you mean they aren't cheer for us?"
