Before I hit you with some numbers, let me first say this is not one of my "Look at me" posts.

I just want us all to finally agree on the fact that MEDIA STOCKS ARE HOT.

So here it goes:

Just today,

ETM is up 15.1%

SSP is up 11.8%

BLC is up 7.3%

CMLS is up 5.9%

SALM is up 4.9%

GCI is up 4.6%

JRN is up 4.3%

MEG is up 4.3%

MNI is up 3.9%

All of these stocks come from the list of 14 media stocks I made back in October of 2009 in this post here:.

Since Oct. 6, the date of that post,

MNI is up 77%, SALM is up 60%, ETM is up 60%, SBGI is up 41%, LEE is up 28%, BLC is up 38%, SBSA is up 31%, ...

The whole portfolio of these stocks (if same amount money invested in each stock from the list) is up 22.4%, while S&P 500's return during the same time frame is 4.2%.

Is that HOT or what?

dare, GTN is one of my bad calls. Actually, I consider it my worst call. It's down 21% since Oct. 6, and I thought it's gonna be 200% up by now (being amedia stock). A bad, bad call. I'm embarassed, what else can I say...
