Meet the Victims of Obamacare...

1)  I guess I can start with myself....  I've had Health Alliance Plan as my health care coverage plan for 6 years.  Due to the Obamacare requirements to cover pre-existing conditions, a net cost to health insurance companies that has to be offset, my health insurance plan skyrocketed for this fiscal year.

Therefore, I was pushed to move to a different plan.

2) http://blog.heritage.org/2012/02/02/morning-bell-obamacares-latest-victim-is-religious-freedom/

Obamacare has negatively impacted Catholic institutions by mandating that all Health Insurance plans have to provide 100% free birth control pills and abortifacients.  Now over 40 Catholic organizations have filed a lawsuit against Obamacare on Religious Freedom grounds.

3)  http://ricochet.com/main-feed/Hiding-Obamacare-s-Results-Before-November

President Obama has created a $8.3 billion slush fund to plug a hole in Obamacare.  The hole is that Obamacare eliminates funding for Medicare Advantage program starting in October's Open Season.  Since this is an election year and Seniors vote more consistently than any other demographic, President Obama's Slush Fund seeks to fund Medicare Advantage for at least 1 more year....effectively hiding the truth about Obamacare.

4)   http://blogs.investors.com/capitalhill/index.php/home/35-politicsinvesting/7073-obamacare-victims-physician-owned-specialty-hospitals

Physicial Owned Specialty Hospitals were the first victims of Obamacare.  The law simply made them illegal leaving in-progress construction on some physicial hospitals to sit unconstructed forever.  Illegal to operate/run them so therefore no longer any point to construct them.  I guess that's been a blow to the Construction Industry too.

5)   http://www.forbes.com/sites/aroy/2012/06/06/obamacares-medical-device-tax-kills-patients-not-just-jobs/

Obamacare creates a 2.3 excise tax on Medical Devices....The author in the link above says that the projection of job losses is between 14,000 and 47,100.  47,100 jobs lost is nearly the total amount of positive job gains last month.....completely wiped away when this takes effect next year.

Think President Obama would sign a Repeal of the Medical Device Tax in Obamacare?
Think Again:

http://news.yahoo.com/white-house-veto-threat-repeal-medical-tax-200514217.html

6)   http://wizbangblog.com/content/2010/03/30/tanning-tax-revenues-were-overcooked.php

The Federal Government discovered in 2010 that the Obamacare 10% Tax on Tanning Booth revenues never generated the kind of revenue $2.7 billion that was originally estimated.  *oops*

7)   http://thehill.com/blogs/healthwatch/taxes-and-fees/228629-gao-health-laws-tax-credits-too-small-to-entice-small-businesses

Obamacare tries to boost Health Insurance plans by offering small businesses tax credits for offering health insurance plans to their employees.  $2 billion was expected to be the amount of issues tax credits and only $468 million ended up being the amount.  That's 17% actually participating.

The problem?  The tax credits are not big enough to justify the cost of issuing health insurance.
So, even where Obamacare tries to *help* it fails.

8)   http://pointsandfigures.com/2012/02/22/obamacare-will-blow-up-the-budget-deficit/

Timothy Geithner admits Obamacare doesn't bend the cost curve of Health Insturance costs.  In fact, admits that we can expect deficits to skyrocket after the 10 year window.

So ultimately, the Entire Future of the United States of America has been victimized.

And yet we have 50% of Registered voters giving President Obama a Good Job Approval rating in Gallup's polling yesterday....figure that one out.

More Victims:

Homes priced above $250,000 when sold, the seller pays 3.8% sales tax....A sales tax specifically slapped onto the Obamacare bill.

A $300,000 home means paying $12,000 regardless of how much you made on the sale of the home.

No wonder our "Housing Market" still stinks.

Great stuff. I take it you were previously covered for pre-existing conditions and all the people who had one and could not get either insurance or healthcare at the hands of private insurers were imaginary or inconsequential or undeserving?

Imagine being a healthy catholic man who was hit by a car, impoverished for having coverage that paid 80% of his costs, then dropped by his insurer who went to the extent of canceling his plan to do it, and found himself unable to buy a new plan because of his pre-existing condition.

I think a health insurer should have to pay for your healthcare and I think it is a scam to promote "choice" of plans so detailed and complicated you need to spend years to learn what is or is not covered only to find the terms have changed since you began reading.

I also think either the State or Federal Government could save the insured significant healthcare cost by eliminating excessive executive pay and just doing healthcare payment itself with Government employees earning less than $250k rather paying executives multi millions and investors dividends.

But I've said that before.

We have private insurers that robbed us before Obama, and private insurers that are robbing us after.

It was a pivate insurer that raised your rate to pay its executives and shareholders after all.

Because as crummy as Obamacare is, it is still better than before.

Best wishes,

Steven

Well I've always had one pre-existing condition or another throughout my life.  First it was Asthma that I had straight through College before I finally got over it. Then I almost immediately began suffering from Anti-reflux disease (heart burn) which I have in spades.

All I know is that it was just that my Health Insurance from the HMO (Health Alliance Plan) skyrocketed.....It also changed enough to be completely removed.  The plan was essentially Cancelled right out from under me.

I sit minding my own business and I get a phone call from a representative from my employer at work,

"Hello, Open Season is almost over and your health care plan no longer exists.  You better sign up for a different one soon!"

You tell me why a health care plan policy I've been renewing for 6 years all of a sudden has to evaporate?

Something in the Health Care Law has definitely caused Health Alliance Plan to abandon the plan and create a different, much more expensive one.

There are plenty of articles out there detailing how plans have jumped from 6 to 9% across the board due to Obamacare.

All the plans I eyeballed in the list of plans I was allowed to select from showed their prices higher by 6% to 9% versus the previous fiscal year.

after It was Obamacare that created new expenses and new Capital Requirements on Health Care Companies which in turn means they have to raise the healthcare plan rates. Apparently, you have no clue about Profit Margins on these companies.  Only competition between private health insurance companies, and de-regulation of Federal/State Governments deciding what the plans need to have and don't need to have in it is how you bring rates down.  We have seen other victims of Obamacare that I haven't listed here....Such as Health Insurance Companies being forbidden to provide really cheap health care plans that pay for Catastrophic Costs only. Why does Obamacare take that away??? Cause Obamacare's goal is to DESTROY the Private Health Insurance Industry.

Competition between Health Care Insurance Companies:

1) Why don't we have competition???

We have areas in America where litterally there are Monopolies set up in this industry.  You choose a plan from only 1 source.

In the end you pay up the NOSE for your health insurance due to the Monopoly.  Regardless if the Monopoly is Private Sector or Public Sector the end result is the same.... You LOSE....and LOSE BIG!!!!

Until we allow Health Insurance Companies to compete across State Lines and Portability of Health care plans when moving from 1 employer to another.....And allow Catastrophic Healthcare Plans to compete for business.....And allow many other things Obamacare has Taken away from the American people.....

Until then.....  We are sitting in a world where our ability to afford our health care when we retire is ever increasingly impared.

*Oh but Obamacare is better than what we had befiore*

NO IT IS NOT

2) I'd rather have what we had before....We used to have Physician Specialty Hospitals.... Now we do not..... How is that improving over what we had before????

Show me the *improvements* of what we have today versus yesterday?

Kids can now stay on their MOMMIES health insurance up to age 26?

Is that your improvement perhaps???

I remember back in the 1980s when generally people believed getting people OFF OF dependance by teaching them to become INDEPENDANT was the best option.

Now any policy out there that makes Little Billy dependant on his MUM or DAD....or The GOVERNMENT....Federal/State/City Government.....Or Dependant on WIC and the BRIDGE card is somehow a sign of a Prosperous Nation.

So you are in favor of the federal government forcing the regulations of one State onto another without the citizens of that state having even elected the legislature that sets the regulations? Wild idea.

Dads too,  but thats just one improvement. You mentioned another. Due to the Obamacare requirements to cover pre-existing conditions,

Both of those are better for my kids and my MOMMIE.

Note the snopes article. This sweeping claim isn't even remotely close to being factual, which is surprising since most everything else has a fairly reliable source.

True - if you and your parner as a married couple make more the  $250,000 a year and sell your home for a PROFIT greater then $500,000, you will be taxed 3.8% on the portion of the sale that exceeds the $500,000 profit.

Read the law, then form your opinion, then share it with us.

It amazes me that anyone could ever, under any circumstance, could consider the Catholic Church a "victim".
