Want some free advice from a financial planner? It can be yours, if a Financial Planning Day is coming to your town. Here's the lowdown:

"Each local Financial Planning Day will feature experts from the Financial Planning Association® and highly qualified CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals, all volunteering their time and expertise to provide free one-on-one counseling and classroom-style educational presentations addressing key personal finance topics.  Best of all, there are no strings attached – volunteer financial planners will not sell products or services, give out business cards or take down names."

See if there will be a "Financial Planning Day" in your area by visiting the program's website. (Sorry for the too-late notice to folks in Oakland and Miami.)
