Mexico now the 2nd fattest country, after U.S.

By Franco Ordonez, McClatchy Newspapers

"Fueled by the rising popularity of soft drinks and fast-food restaurants, Mexico has become the second fattest nation in the world. Mexican health officials say it could surpass the U.S. as the most obese country within 10 years if trends continue.

More than 71 percent of Mexican women and 66 percent of Mexican men are overweight, according to the latest national surveys."

Don't worry America we are still #1....

I am dying inside to make jokes here. Like the "Little Jonny Troublemaker" in corner smilling and squirming in his chair with his hand up, a wise teacher knows not to call on Little Jonny.

I will leave it up to you to you have some fun with our fat neighbors.

But instead I will take the high road review what the bible says about Gluttony:

Gluttony in the Bible

Gluttony is addressed by Biblical teachings of moderation (Ecclesiastes 7:18) and self-control (Galatians 5:23; Titus 2:12). It is mentioned most in the book of Proverbs, e.g.,

“Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags.” (Proverbs 23:20-21)“He who keeps the law is a discerning son, but a companion of gluttons disgraces his father.” (Proverbs 28:7)“When you sit to dine with a ruler, note well what is before you, and put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony.” (Proverbs 23:2)
