December 02, 2010 – Comments (4) | RELATED TICKERS: IBA

Do any of my Cdn fools- Motley Folls that is, have any ticker symbols for a few of the Mexican stocks like Soriana,  Comercial Mexicana, etc. For example my ticker for Wal-mart de Mexico on my Questrade account comes up as WMMVF.  That is different than those that us a US trading account.

Some mexican stocks like Bachoco ( IBA) are the same on both the Cdn & US accounts.

I like to buy & sell some of these but can't find the correct tickers for them here on Cdn stockbroker accounts.

Help needed on this one. Thank you.

Doing my part as well towards TMF Foolanthropy.

If you use the search function on FT.com it displays all the different listings for each company.  That is the best source I've found for international markets.

I don't know any Canadian listed Mexican companies offhand.

Thanks, MegaEurope for your info. The mexican secuities like Wal-Mart de Mexico pop up on the US listings side, not the Canadian side but for some reason some of them have different ticker symbols on Questrade ie the Wal-mart Mex.   IBA - Bachoco is the same ticker used on Questrade as any other Stock trading accounts.

I'll check out that FT.com for myself even though. Much obliged.

Take a look at MXF.  It is an ETF that includes a mix of stocks of Mexican companies.  Here is what a recent Seeking Alpha article had to say:

Mexico Fund (MXF): The top three sectors in the fund are Telecom, Consumer Services and Basic Materials. Financials make up just 7% of the holdings. America Movil (AMX) and Wal-Mart de Mexico (WMMVY.PK) are the top two holdings in the fund. YTD the share price has grown by 30% and the expense ratio is 1.70%. The fund has an asset base of $395 million.
