Which are your three favorite micro or small cap stocks or ETFs. Share them with the group. If you would like to elaborate on your picks then you are welcome to do so. I'll start...

1) CVGW

2) CALM

3) MXC

Please do not criticize eachothers picks. This is show and tell, not a debate.

Foolishly yours,

Cato

Really hard to pick, as there are so many great micros. However these are the ones that I personally hold, so I've gotta stick with my homeboys. ;)

1) JMBA (though I'm a little concerned with the recent preferred share issuance to the Serruya brothers).

2) TRGL (they seem to be concentrating on turning things around)

I own both of these in my RL portfolio and recently bought more JMBA (the stock and the smoothies). :-)

All three of these companies should have explosive growth in the next year.

For Cato's picks:

CVGW has too much investment in PPE and NWC for my taste.  Its a gamble if this company can sustain income without this investment.

CALM:  I like this pick.  I value them conservatively at 34.77, and fairly at 44.79.  Good pick, but they do have a high short ratio right now.

MXC:  Also has too much investment in PPE and NWC for my taste.  There are a bunch of other AWESOME energy companies I like better.

Sean's Picks:

PVD: I dont evaluate finance companies so you are on your own.

VNR: I consider this pick to be highly speculative.  Negative earnings for 2008 combined with high investment in PPE and NWE make this a dangerous pick in my opinion.

LAYN: This is another pick that I consider fairly risky.  High investment in PPE and NWC.

I feel like I have been pretty negative about these picks.  The truth is, I know very little about these companies outside of the raw numbers.  I think growth companies, (LAYN, VNR, MXC, and CVGW) require more speculation than I like to do.

I have a WHOLE ton of small cap picks that I recommend based on their raw data at my website

Good luck!

Not the most popular of picks but they do pluck my interest because of what each company's goals try to do.  I like to watch them - if they ever progress, I see them holding a niche in the market for a while.

Thanks,

Joy

I will only comment on the stocks I really like (so I dont feel like Debbie Downer).

RJET-  Awesome pick.  I value them conservatively at $8.55 and failry at $13.18.  With a current price of $5.75 they seem to have some aweseome potential.  Also they are one of the few stocks I like that is low beta.
