Agree with your thoughts on MBRG. People should keep in mind that Sokol is a great manager, but it's not clear he's a particularly great investor.

An insurance company like NWLI or AFSI would probably be a better foundation for a mini-Berkshire.  Buffett has said that if he started out with a high quality insurance company instead of a textile manufacturer, he would be twice as rich today.

Only problem with that approach for Sokol is that he admitted on CNBC that he isn't familar with the insurance business.
