More on the Swine Flu

I posted earlier on the swine flu and my concerns that come because I am an educator and disease is simply spread faster through children than adults because of their behaviour, not washing hands as frequently, and simply touching everything all the time.
This story is interesting in how schools are being closed in response. Additionally, there is the one school that 25-30% of the kids stayed home. Are they sick or are the parents worried about sending them to school? I do know that prior to the fears about this flu that I have seen schools with 25-30% of students absent because of colds and flus.
I don't have a link, but one of the articles that I read on it was saying that the flu is showing up in clusters around schools and in people under 16.
So now add in that in order to balance school budgets janitorial services to schools have been cut to bare bones. All surfaces that kids touch should be washed daily, and that includes all door handles, light switches and desk tops, but I bet the desk tops are washed as infrequently as once per month and once every week or two is probably fairly standard.
