My Final Motley Fool Article

Well Fools, what a long strange trip it's been! :)

After 5 years of writing daily content on precious metals for The Motley Fool, the time has come for me to take another direction in my life. I wish to be 100% clear that the timing of my departure has nothing whatsoever to do with this prolonged bout of weakness for the mining equities, and that my stridently bullish long-term outlook on both the metals and the higher-quality mining stocks remains wholly undeterred.

Instead, the timing is linked to another opportunity that presented itself. Although my professional life will be taking me in a completely different direction, I will continue to track these precious metal markets just as closely as I always have. And I intend to remain an active member of this great community through periodic posts here on my blog. But as far as published articles on fool.com, my article out today will be my last.

Accordingly, I tried to draft an article that could stand as an appropriate swan song. Here is Everything You Need to Know About Gold and Silver.

http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2013/03/29/everything-you-need-to-know-about-gold-and-silver.aspx

I have not ruled out the possibility of launching a newsletter service to share the research I continue to perform both on the stocks that I own and the ones that I screen for potential investment. More than 100 of you already e-mailed me last year when I discussed the possibility of starting just such a service, so if your e-mail address hasn't changed since then, please know that I already have you on a distribution list if I do decide to move forward with a newsletter. For those who have not sent their e-mail address along, and would like the option of subscribing to such a service, please send me an e-mail at sinchiruna@cox.net with "please add me" in the subject line and your CAPS username in the body.

I want to thank all of you for making my 5-year stint as a writer for The Motley Fool such a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding experience. While my activity on Motley Fool CAPS is likely to taper off as well, this is not a farewell from my beloved blogging community. I will still be here, even if under a modified moniker of XMFSinchiruna. I wish all of you a very happy Easter weekend, and look forward to keeping in touch!

Thanks for your very thought provoking and well-written commentary.  I have always looked forward to your posts and will miss the insights you have so generously shared.  I wish you well in your new adventure and hope you pursue the investing newsletter as well.  Do you have any thoughts on where else one might go for good advice on the precious metals sector?

Good Luck to you and the best of luck in your future endeavors. I haven't been bullish on PM's or the miners since April of 2011 and actually became extremely bearish at that time. I will be reversing my sentiment and will be starting positions in many of these mining companies for the first time next week. Good Luck to you.

Sinchi,

Thanks for your great articles over the years.

My friend, for you an Irish saying comes to mind:

“There are good ships that are wood ships,
The ships that sail the sea,
But the best ships are friendships
and may they always be.”

All the best,

I am not a buyer of gold mining stocks because I took my position in gold coins many years ago and would only dilute my position, but I have enjoyed reading your articles over the years.

Good luck in your new endeavor.

Hope you and yours have a great weekend.

Sinch,

Well, that news is a real sandstorm for Motley Fool. Your articles were my primero reason for coming here, and I suspect others are also saying, "Dolly, there isn't much left after so many of the knowledgable fools, those who endeavor to pass along knowledge, vanish."

I'll keep your bookmarks in my reader program (feedly now that google reader is closing), and keep an eye out for you on other sites as well.

Take care,

5 Years, where has the time gone? Your presence here as a writer on PMs has been one of the higher points in the MF community of stars. Though there are many other authors employed by the Fool that I would much rather see leave MF employment instead of you, such is life.

I wish you all the best in your new opportunities.  I thank you for the insights and research that you always shared here.  I am glad to hear that you will still be posting some of your thoughts here.

God bless and take care,
