So what you're saying is we need to produce our way out of this downturn? Poppycock! We have to consume and spend our way out! Its the American way.

But seriously if you're trying to convince a bunch of whiny complacent "entitled" Americans of your argument then I wish you the best of luck.

Business innovation? Let's have the government get right on that, and suppress interest rates to where it can happen.

immelt (ceo of GE) is right, we need investment and production to turn this big ship around permanently, period.

a core component of that would be for the US to lose its anti-business, anti-work ethic, anti-success attitude and stop praising Paris Hilton more than we praise great business leaders.

All hail the virtues of Business Creativity! All hail....

Wait. Wait a minute.

Creativity brought us Pay-Option Arms.

Creativity brought us Stated Subprime 100% Mortgages, right?

I thought all had agreed, that creativity, especially creativity aimed at engineering more business, to blame for the mess we are in today....

It was Creativity, after all, that brought MBSs, CDOs, sequential PACs, and RIMICs.  Undisputedly, all inherently evil inventions, with no redeeming value.

I was away for a few weeks.  What did I miss?  How did we go so quickly from villifying innovation and creativity to proclaiming their virtues.

...Or perhaps consistency just went out of fashion while I wasn't looking.
