New Avatar

October 12, 2007 – Comments (4)

Hi Kids! Did you know that the word "avatar" comes from the Hindi for "incarnation of a deity"? I'll bet you did, because you're smart. Only smart kids read my blog.

Well, I got a new avatar (not an incarnation of a Hindu god/dess, but an image representing myself on CAPS), and I want to blog to you about it. First, I would have put a picture of my own on there (perhaps of my sister-in-law's dog, who's really cute), but I lack the technical proficiency to do that. Also, I'm not sure that's allowed. Second, I chose one of the pictures I don't remember seeing around much. Third, I really like the fat guy. He looks like a throwback to the days when enormously rich people were enormously fat. He's got a big ol' fortune, and he's got a weight problem to match. Take that, skinny working-class people of the industrial era!

You can't add your own avatar to CAPS, at present. In time, though, it's a certainty. In the meantime, enjoy the existing diversity -- I can see you're having fun. Fool on! --D

I also rock the fat cat avatar, and I agree that he is a relic from a time when the rich had steaks for breakfast and martinis for lunch.

No tofu or marathons for him, that's for sure.

Hey Fleabagger,

Thanks for visiting my blog and posting!  I see you're doing some great blogging and pitching and posting in CAPS and it is greatly appreciated.

On my blog, you asked - "Can you do a video about dividend-paying small caps with the FCF to cover their dividend payments, hi ROE/ROIC, and 5 stars?"

I have possibly even better idea - why not make your video debut by presenting one of YOUR favorite CAPS stocks that meet these criteria. Video Player Pitches is a great way for Fools to add their voices to our Dynamic Collective Intelligence and it would be great for the community to see how an All-Star Fool like you thinks about a stock.  If you're interested, please email me.

I hope no one thinks I'm a suck-up or a groupie for putting Dave, Chris, Dan and a few other CAPS celebs as my favorites, but you guys are the ones posting engaging comments on my blog. I'm just talking to the people who are talking to me. And Seth. But he's got that "Interesting Cranky Guy" vibe going on.
