Low risk tolerance high yield, thats a tough one. Monthly checks limits your options. You may want to rethink the parameters to better diversify your options otherwise your looking at funds and a few ETF's but then you get into lower yields PEY is one I think it is currently around 6%. Why not mix it up with qty dividends. I agree with your dividend policy although recently I have deviated from my plan.

What I have done is to put my safe money about 1/2 into bonds. There are articles google.. etf+ monthly+dividend.I put 30% into high yielding risky stocks this picks up my yield% and does not expose me to utter ruin. SFI, PRGN and  CSE. By doing this my yearly rate of return has gone to 12%(although I did pick these up cheaper than they are now. The balance is in a mutual fund(that I contribute to monthly) and some non-dividend stock in companies I know and like with great potential for growth.

I will add I do not rec anything I have mentioned it is only an example of what I have done to get decent returns with the lowest risk.

Thanks you for your time in responding to my posting,  I respect your opinions and sincerity.  I also have investments that pay quaterly, semiannual, and annual dividend paying stocks.  I am looking to diversify from the norm.  It seems everytime I think this way it leads to losses,

I recently sold Diana Shipping. I held the stock at a considerable lost for the last six months, sold position and made a few bucks but I got burned holding on the position one extra day,  I now feel like I am leaning toward day trading after that trade,

Good trading.
