Nexen to become Chinese owned? Your Precious Thoughts?

It was announced this morning that Nexen has agreed to sell itself to a Chinese Corp.

 Do you think that the Canadian Government will allow a deal like this to continue and complete? My personal opinion is; I think that my Govt would be absolutely foolish to allow such a sale of our precious resources to be sold to a foreign company particularily to a non-democratic country as China.

 What do my Canadian comrades think about this and, how about my neighbours south of the border? 

The stock price has suddenly risen 51% on the announcement. I'm not buying any of its stock right now.  I would consider shorting it though, but can't afford to at the moment.
