Nice, Cheap Chardonnay

If you've followed my blogs - first, many thanks - second, you know I enjoy finding a bargain in the wine aisle as much as finding an underpriced stock.
I just tried Jacob's Creek Chardonnay, 2011 vintage, and really enjoyed it. I've had some other wines from Jacob's Creek and they've been good for the money, but not great - this one rocked. The label says, "medium bodied wine with melon and citrus flavors" and that pretty well sums it up. I wouldn't swear it tastes like melon and citrus, but the wine was refreshing and had nice fruit tastes without tasting like a sugary juice or having a bitter aftertaste. My wife also liked the wine. It's unusual to find something we both like. We have very different wine tastes, so when both of us like something, odds are most folks will like it.
The best part is this was on sale at the local Giant supermarket for about $6.50 a bottle. Don't know if other places have it at that price, but I do know I've paid more for wines I didn't like as well. I'll be stocking up after I sober up.
I generally prefer reds to whites, but really liked this wine. It should work well with poultry or fish or just enjoying a glass or three while watching the NASCAR race - or whatever it is you want to watch.
Please drink responsibly.
Fool on, Russ
