No Alstry Hasn't Gone Crazy
A few of my buddies think my blogging about money and gold is a little extreme even for Alstry......
Let's me help put things in perspective:
When man could only farm 40 acres with a mule per person....as technology developed....and fewer men and women were needed to farm.....what was valuble in the subsistance Agricultural Age had little value in the Industrial Age. The transition for the farmers was very convulsive...but most were absorbed into Industrial Age technology because the production of goods was very labor intensive.
As we move to the Digital Age....much of what had value in the Industiral Age will have very little value in the Digital Age. For example, real estate in its current form will have very little value in the Digital Age.
Most will not live in carbon fueled homes but rather electrical powered communities which can be called pods....the house as we know it will be obsolete. So will much of the brick and mortar shopping we currently do so most shopping centers will be vacant. Office buildings the same.
We will not need many bank branches.....or schools or universities as education and banking morphs online.....we are already well on our way down this path.
The BIG difference between the Digital Age and Industrial Age is the lack of need of humans to work in the Digital Age....most technologies are labor efficient and reduce the need for human input. In a service based economy such as ours where labor is the primary productive output......we will need to change the entire structure of our economy to adapt.
You can see the changes aleady evidenced by the massive and growing unemployment and incredible declines in tax receipts. The current capitalistic system in America where we charge interest on borrowed money is functionally obsolete as we are in a period where production is declining while money, the derivitive or production is given free to bankers yet charged at a relatively very high rate to society.....making it mathematiclly impossible to service.
You will understand more of this as we move forward and the Industrial Economy deteriorates rapidly before your eyes as 22,000,000 government employees jobs are on the line and 20,000,000 health care workers confront an illness they have never seen before.
It is not the end of the world....simply a change few are prepard for.....
