(MarketWatch) -- Costco Wholesale Corp.,the Issaquah, Wash., warehouse retailer, reported that in November, comparable-store sales fell 5%.

For those of you that visit here regularly...you know Costco is my favorite retailer both in terms of product selection and value.  Costco has migrated to the grocery store for many of its members over the past few years driving fantastic revenue growth as food prices rose.

But even Costco is facing headwinds......and if it is happening to Costco now....you know the speed is approaching gale force.

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Credit Suisse said Thursday that it will cut roughly 5,300, or 11%, of its jobs after posting a loss of around 3 billion Swiss francs ($2.5 billion) for the first two months of the fourth quarter.

If most companies are cutting 10% or more of its workforce, and unemployment is over 6% right now........than what levels might unemployment reach??????

A 5% fall-off in that November should be considered quite a success story.
