Tell me who's watching...
Specifically, which companies are stalking you so well that you're happy to have their recommendations? These popular ones come to mind for me:
Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) - I've used both them and Blockbuster Online...Netflix was utterly fantastic about recommending movies similar to my favorites. I will admit that I put many of them in queue, never to be thought of again. We've come a long way from "Tom's picks" at the local video store.
Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) - Sometimes it's embarrassing seeing what Amazon's rec'ing for me, but hey, it's all based on past shopping history. Worst current recommendation: two yoga books...I browsed yoga stuff once (probably after eating three jelly doughnuts or something) but never bought.
Facebook and LinkedIn - Based on your friends, you may want to add this person you hated in high school or this co-worker who backstabbed you.
Pandora and imeem.com - Two of my favorite music services recommend music similar to what you enter. Pandora's always interesting b/c it goes beyond the obvious. imeem's doesn't seem very sophisticated...a lot of big misses...but I won't complain b/c you play just about anything you want on demand.
Fool.com - Oh yeah, baby...lest you forget, we've got personalized "stock of the day" picks on your CAPS page. They're based on your CAPS stocks. Thumbs up or thumbs down?
What are your favorites? What company makes you happy about its Big Brother ways?
