Note to Obama and Geithner: give it a rest

Yes, I know, we are facing the worst financial crisis in many decades. Yes, I know, the dudes you replaced were not a big help. Still, after watching your actions, I am reminded of the old saw about fools rushing in were others fear to tread. I remind you that the depth and length of the depression of the 30's are widely blamed on well intentioned but incorrect actions by the govt.
However, I do have some suggestions:
Mr. President: could you please stop talking down the economy? You are not helping.
Mr. SecTreas: Do nothing. Get many opinions, far and wide, and make sure they are repeated and reported often and prominently in the media. Stroke your chin thoughtfully, nod your head, and furrow your brow. By the time folks figure out that you aren't doing anything of substance, the economy will have worked itself out of its problems all by itself.
