A follow up on my recent post on air travel:

Courtesy of The Atlantic:

come November 24th [National Opt Out Day], here's an idea you might try to make the day extra-special. It's a one-word idea: Kilts. Think about it -- if you're a male, and you want to bollix-up the nonsensical airport security-industrial complex, one way to do so would be to wear a kilt. If nothing else, this will cause TSA employees to throw up their hands in disgust. If you want to go the extra extra mile, I suggest commando-style kilt-wearing. While it is probably illegal to fly without pants, I can't imagine that it's illegal to fly without underpants.

ROFL!!!!!!!

Now that's a suggestion I can get on board with. Contact your Congressman, and stage a non-violent protest.

Good work.

Not only kits, but if you live in the South Pacific, or Indo-Pacific region, than its common to wear a lava-lava, essentially a man sarong.  It goes by many names depending on what island nation you are at, but it is the same.  They have formal lava-lava's for sue during ceremonies, business attire events like showing up to work at the bank.  Or, informal ones that you wear aroudn the house, whiel doing construction work etc.  I once sw a crew of guys working on constructign a new church, laying cement etc all wearing lava-lavas.

I actually flew back to CA once with surfboards in hand wearing a lava lava.  I got a lot of mixed looks, mostly from Asian adults.  It was a little experiment I conducted that left me wishing I had a video camera to record peoples reactions.

In any case, kilt, lava-lava etc. go for it.  Make it as unpleasurable for them as possible. Lets make them share in the humilaition, unles they hire a bunch of sick perverts for the job.  We have to show them that we aren't really lazy and that we have control over how we wish to be governed and that fear will not work on us.

On a side note, I wonder how author in the link from the original post would have handled getting arrested or charged with some crime?

Put on a kilt, opt-out, and when the manual search comes just look at the guy and say, "I'm really going to enjoy this."  When it's over, ask for his number.

It would be really bad if you didnt wash before you went through security. I think thats the only way a female could protest.

Is there any other way to wear a kilt?
