This is the link to the official healthcare bill:http://docs.house.gov/edlabor/AAHCA-BillText-071409.pdfit is a 2 meg PDF file. Yeah, it is 1,018 pages, but each page has only 25 lines of really big type.on page 25:
Subtitle C-Standards Guaranteeing Access to Essential Benefits
SEC. 121. COVERAGE OF ESSENTIAL BENEFITS PACKAGE.
(a) IN GENERAL.-A qualified health benefits plan shall provide coverage that at least meets the benefit standards adopted under section 124 for the essential benefits package described in section 122 for the plan year involved.OK, this means that there will be one size fits all, from sea to shining sea. If the commission determines that it will include breast implants and hair transplants, then everyone’s insurance will have it. Want a low-ball, budget version that is not so comprehensive? Too bad. On p. 167
SEC. 59B. TAX ON INDIVIDUALS WITHOUT ACCEPTABLE HEALTH CARE COVERAGE.
(a) TAX IMPOSED.-In the case of any individual who does not meet the requirements of subsection (d) at any time during the taxable year, there is hereby imposed a tax equal to 2.5 percent of the excess of -
(1) the taxpayer's modified adjusted gross income for the taxable year, over
(2) the amount of gross income specified in section 6012(a)(1) with respect to the taxpayer.OK, there are things about poverty line, credits and such, but have not read it that closely yet. OK: you are too poor to buy the insurance, but there is an exception for you anyway since you are one of the 40% who do not pay income tax, so...hmmm.

Unbelievable.

We should spend hundreds of millions, maybe even billions to secure the borders, round up the illegals, give them one-way tickets back home, and get back to square one in this country.

Once those drains on our healthcare system are no more, then we can focus on getting all the fat cut from our social programs, get people working (even if they think it's below their payscale or demeaning in some fashion), and get back to basics.

Next, we scale back elected official pay, privileges and benefits so it's not so inviting to dig in as a public servant, resulting in faster rotation in our public offices.

Then, we get rid of all but the the very basics for prisoners, making it even less inviting to become one in the first place or to do something that may land you back there.

I can go on and on, but I think you get the gist of where I'm going with this.  Government just piles new, "better smelling" cr*p on top of the old stuff, hoping the old stuff will just go away or be forgotten.  Meanwhile, it rots under there and is rotting away the foundation of this country.

Obamacare is not about real reform, it's about government mandating a tax, collecting from every citizen, money that will go into a fund that will be paid out of when anyone needs it for health care.  We all know that Social Security will be bankrupt soon.  Obama has said it over and over that the country will go bankrupt without Obamacare.  Guess why?  He needs the money to cover Social Security shortfalls.  He won't say that, but it is reality.

So, you see, Obamacare is a way to rob you and me to pay somebody else.

If Obama really wants positive change and positive reform, he'll start by working to restore the fundamentals and foundation of the United States of America to its former glory, not just painting over, the foundation of our great country.

Obama is like a kid who has had a blast borrowing, riding and showing off with his friend's bike for his whole childhood.  Then, at some point he decides that his friend's bike is not good enough any more.  So he asks the other kids in the neighborhood to give hime money to buy a new bike and to trash the very one he's been enjoying all those years.  But he tells the kid who owns it that because other kids in the neighborhood have contributed to the new bike, that it's not really his anymore, and that all the other kids now have claim to it.  And he'll tell each of them when, how long and where they can ride it.

Under "Obamacare" can I pay an insurer for 17 years and then have my policy reviewed and canceled if I submit an expensive claim?

Under "Obamacare" would the Gov't insurance be considered minimum coverage and could I purchase, assuming my employer rewards my daily efforts enough that I can, additional expanded not cookie cutter coverage?

Just asking if maybe "Obamacare" which sucks compared to "Medicare for All", which really is cookie cutter coverage, is better than risking your life with a private insurer?

If Obama care plan is so great for the average American, why don't members of congress and the Senate agree to drop their current plan and go under the single pay plan they are pushing on the rest of us?
