I never imagined you could drive a stock from $8 with a .48 eps to as low as $6.14
Per Briefing In Play
Cott beats by $0.33, misses on revs (7.73 ) : Reports Q2 (Jun) earnings of $0.48 per share, $0.33 better than the First Call consensus of $0.15; revenues fell 5.9% year/year to $438.8 mln vs the $458.9 mln consensus.
Looks to me like the shorts must've covered prior to the earnings release just in case the guidance wasn't grim.
Tread carefully here if you're in w/ real moneys... Despite the solid 2Q #'s, their debt situation isn't pretty. Also, you have to imagine it'll be impossible to replace the business Cott does via the expiring exclusive contract with Wallmart.
I on the other hand, I was so early on my red thumb that I'm still at -30.
