Reporting from Paris - Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton warned China on Friday that it faced international pressure and increasing isolation unless it joined other world powers in sanctioning Iran to try to halt Tehran's nuclear ambitions.

SACRAMENTO — State Controller John Chiang issued a stern warning Friday about California's cash reserves, telling legislative leaders and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger they must act on nearly $9 billion in budget cuts the governor is seeking by March — or the state will run out of cash to pay its bills.

Without making those cuts — which Chiang says will pump $1.3 billion into the state's checking account — California would be broke by April 1, no fooling.

Look, China isn't in a hurry to do anything other then satisfy its people by keeping growth around 8-10%.

Actually, selling weapons to Taiwan plays right into the Communist Party's hand. Mainland Chinese are super-nationalistic. China is not going to invade Taiwan. But when the U.S. pokes them in the eye, the people of China simply rally-round the central government.

Eventually China will become the largest economy in the world, with the largest population in the world, and they'll start make demands on us, not the other way around.

Example . . . the European ban on selling weapons to The People Republic of China.

What is China's response? "If you don't sell us weapons now, we won't sell you weapons once we are the preeminent power."

Just wait Fools!

Irrelevance = Not getting the memo that you are irrelevant.

The Chinese know that if this issue was important to Obama he would have tapped one of his "czars" to do the deal.

The last time the PRC took America seriously was when their embassy in Belgrade was imploded by Mr. Rodham . . . and that was a mistake.

One thing that I heard over-and-over 'til I was ready to throw-up was how the last administration tried to enhance the President's power. You are right on with the Czar comment. Our beloved 44th President really knows how to do it.

The unfortunate thing is, the uncounted illegal aliens "will be" in the census. If you don't live in a border state, get ready to lose a house seat or two.

When a documented citizen rejects a job because they can make more money on the dole, we set ourselves up for lower-cost, illegal labor.

As Al keeps pointing out, the system is broke.

You want a hot spot Al, there you go. Top officials are fleeing the ship. Inflation tops 25%. The currencies been devalued. He has Columbia and the USA as his scapegoats.

If I was a betting man, and I am, I'd give you 5 to 1 odds that el Presidente Chavez makes a military move on Columbia, before December 2010, to try to save himself. Or one of his Colonels decides to off him before next year.

Either way, he a goner.
