Our poor economy....

November 18, 2009 – Comments (3) | RELATED TICKERS: GS

I think we all still think there's something very wrong in our economy. For some, it's so obvious that they're screaming it from the rooftops, while for others it's just a sneaking suspicion. But it's there.

If you ask me, I think there's a big problem, and I don't think it's due to Goldman Sachs or the government. I think it's a national ethos of trying to make the quick buck, and forgetting what it means to invent and manufacture things.

Our economy is being hollowed out and if we don't change it's course we're just going to end up going through these rapid boom-bust phases over and over again.

Here's what I had to say about it on today.

The Wright brothers launched from a bike shop.

Ford, who had already run 2 companies into the ground and had some of the most toxic credit in Detroit, launched the Model A from the Dodge brothers' steam engine & gun parts machine shop. He had $223.65 in the bank when a local dentist bought the 1st one for cash and changed the world.

Steve Jobs, a long distance phone call thief, and his hippie pal 'Woz' launched Apple Computing from a garage.

I can do this all day but my grandchildren are whining for their Eggos.

You worry too much. The future is coming from where it always comes from. Yer fancy-shmancy nancy-boy universities will provide the engineers, managers, sheisters, shylocks, and bean counters after the fact just like always:)

Relax, have a great holiday, spend time w/family, read some history to your kids, or somebody's kids, and beach the whale.
