The "top20" part of the "top outperform members" list somehow does not fluctuate all that much ...

So it might really be time to introduce some "annualisation" and maybe some "risk-adjustment" feature to give new players a chance to enter those top lists faster than they currently can.

still my favourite "top list" comment.

So this is it... We worship the top tens and feel good... Americans love top tens...

Nobody cares about interesting blogs.

But hey we've got this nice guy called gmx... He continues to separate you from your money since early April... but still everybody loves him... ah well

I agree with this - because what the MF doesn't realize is that their setup is flawed from a math perspective - once you have nadir - and on a bounded pick ( unweighted) system - anyone who buys in at that price - and holds - and markets go up - even inch - there's no way you can overcome the hurdle.

CAPS is not very suitable to short-term swing trading - hence the long-term "shot in the dark" and Yipee!!! approach will work. Same in bears

BTW a few things Hans

(a)  When I strongly disagree with you - you need to listen. Look at your newest LXRS pick price - I told you it was going sub 1.25 and MYGN!

(b) When you strongly disagree with me - I need to take a step back : I never thought that Spline poly would work - even when suggesting it - but it did! Never fight the model that fits!

(c) When we both agree on something : You better sit up and DO SOMETHING. Man oh man! - My greatest regret now are the VMW 40 calls ( Just OTM)  which I tried to pick in Aug  2009. I tried to nickel and dime - with limit price - and I never got them. You know - I pretty much withdrew from the market after that. That VMW chart - never ceases to amaze me!!!!

I have started selling some of my EMC call options. I will keep most of my EMC shares (and thus the VMW shares their represent).

Hans......I would suggest - at this time - you should have a strip of VMW calls running - it is chasing - but the momentum is there - put something you don't need

I really hate having VMW shares (or VMW call options) in my portfolio as long as the "EMC stub" (EMC minus "net cash" minus VMW shares) is so ridiculously cheap, If the price of VMW shares "keeps going up", so will that of EMC shares and if the price of ATPG shares "recovers a bit more" I will end up with a portfolio that is extremely concentrated (EMC shares and call options and ATPG shares and call options will soon make up over 50%, I think. see this post.).
