WASILLA -- Back in 1996, when she first became mayor, Sarah Palin asked the city librarian if she would be all right with censoring library books should she be asked to do so.

According to news coverage at the time, the librarian said she would definitely not be all right with it. A few months later, the librarian, Mary Ellen Emmons, got a letter from Palin telling her she was going to be fired. The censorship issue was not mentioned as a reason for the firing. The letter just said the new mayor felt Emmons didn't fully support her and had to go.

The heck with the constitution and you have held that job for seven years....I am mayor B*tch.

Can you imagine what she will be like as a VP or if McCain got sick.  Bomb the world....its Gods will?????

Palin:  Pit Bull or Snoopy?

(CNN) -- Aides to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin improperly obtained her former brother-in-law's state police personnel files and cited information from those records to raise complaints about the officer, the head of Alaska's state police union said Thursday.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has put an aide on leave during a probe into the firing of the public safety commissioner.

"It's apparent to us that the governor or someone on her staff had direct access to his personnel file, as well as his workers' comp file, and those are protected," said John Cyr, executive director of the Alaska Public Safety Employees Association.

You say you don't like either party, but you never hold obama and his party to the same rants as the other.

Granted, i wasn't reading your posts last year, but in the last 6 months, all you do is rip the right.

Be an equal opportunity ripper if you claim to dislike both sides.

Alstry, you were dead on when it came to job losses. Reading the articles you posted and keeping a mental tally of the numbers I couldn't believe they were so low. Well this morning that was cleared up, when Gov revised the numbers for June and July ...upward!!

This is just unreal! When you look at the initial numbers it doesn't look so bad, but when you take into account all the revisions and changes and games their playing, who knows!! I still plan on debating the green revolution with you, but that looks 5+ years off....unfortunately.

This is such a mess!

Alstry surely you could come up with something more daming than some alleged librarian getting let go ?

Just face it, she is much better than you, and this make you both fear and hate her.

Oh is it just me or does it look like Obama is turning more and more white these days, hes looking rather pale ?

Also did he always have that mole or is it a pimple on the left side of his nose ?

Man he did look rather pale when he looked to cry about the Reps last night.

debtrich,

As a former trial lawyer, understanding the facts is key.  Never have the facts been so distorted as they have in the past five years on so many different fronts.  You and I saw if first hand with SPF.  It is tough to have intelligent debates when the facts are in question....people will believe what they believe until they no longer believe....unfortunately the truth is sacrificed for long periods in between.

The average CAPs player has no idea how the unemployment numbers are calculculated or what it really means.  With the exact same numbers out there, the unemployment rate could easily be reported as over 10% with just a few revisions and then the masses would panic.  Expect more revisions ahead.

I agree with your green position....but you need money to push the ball forward.  Right now, we are getting penalized 10 yards each play.  I deem green will be seen....but the question is whether it will be our team or will it be beamed overseas where labor is lean and engineers have the genes and are keen to be dean of the new revolution.

givemeabreak,

check out my posts, I think Obama's payouts are goofy as well and will further hurt the economy.  However, his approach to international relations is more consistent with the history of our country than the current evangelical dispensationist viewpoint that the world must blow up in order for our savior to come again.  I myself would much rather our savior come when he so chooses.  As an investor why do I care???  Because noooklier war trumps all investment decisions.

For what its worth, I don't view myself better or worse than anyone.....unlike you and your racist perspective about many.

I am sure you are upset that Obama and his wife matriculated from two of the best universities and law schools in America....that is OK....but you shouldn't think they are better than you....you are equal in my eyes and that is what our constitution holds.  I don't even think they are better than Sarah Palin even though she attened 5 colleges in six years.

We are all equal when "All Men Are Created Equal."  Sorry, but that is what it means to be an American and that is what our forefathers fought and died to protect.

givemeabreak - Obama was eight years old when the weathermen were active. Palin's numerous embarassments occured while she was in office. The outrage should not be the same. If the Ayers story has more documentation, let's see it.

Similar can be said about friends.  I will never say anything about Palin's friends......just the person and their judgment.

As far as Obama's cocaine use...clearly drug use during youth is an issue....but it is an issue for many....even maybe current presidents:)

The Chicago polictical machine...have you ever tried to be in politics in Chicago without interracting with the political machine....that is like indicting every successful Italian New York business person as being part of the Mafia.

As far as taking from the rich and giving it to the poor......that is a little more palatable than taking from the poor and giving to the rich.

But if Obama does something idiotic, I will be the first to raise it....if not, please bring it to my attention.

Just having a little fun.  Quite frankly it didn't really matter which side I was paid to represent....it was advocating that was fun using the truth as my weapons.

By providing factual data points, I simply allow the Republican's to advoate against them and present their side in a fair and balance way.

It is just funny that the Republicans actually think she is going to be on the ticket in November.  I am having fun seeing them defend her so when Lieberman replaces her, it will be nuts watching the back peddling from the hole they dug for themselves.

At this point, on the econ side, things are so bad and working out exactly as I predicted.....if I really stated how I feel or where I think things are going, even I might start to ignore myself.

We are entering into a phase nun of us have been through before......I guess  this is what they call interesting times.

Everyone has some degree of bias, however to say that you don't in most instances is folly and you should look to walk if not run away, especially when money is concerned.

I don't know about this librarian, but when did this occur what decade ? and I think if your boss asks you to do something and your position is let me think about it or no your not the boss of me ? than ask yourself what should you as the boss do ?

Maybe I was in my typical fashion a little harsh in my choice or maybe just maybe you didn't realize which points I was joking with or if I was serious, but I must ask, why now does Alstry seem to look to attack Palin on silly issues like some possible separation of employment that happened when ?

Omg suppose we look into all hirings and firings and lay offs and try to come up with strategies about what this says about people and why or why not should they qualify for election.

But whatever....

Bear me no mind...

It wasn't really that important was it.

Ha ha ...  Thanks for the laugh.   Anyway, you might want to hire the FBI to do a background check on LordZ just in case he did something bad some 20 years ago and you are blamed for your association.

Darn, I forgot.  Not only the FBT background checks will cost a sizable fortune, they won't even do it on anybody without justification.   Hmmm ...

All I can say is that YOU KNOW IT'S GOING TO BE BAD when your candidate starts lying to you on the very first day you really get to know her. To wit:

(1) Bridge To Nowhere: "No thanks!" she claims to have said. But that was only after she'd said, "Yes, please!". Then she didn't even return the $230M??!!  I figure she already owes my state 1/50th of that pork-barrel special interests money. Where's my $4.6M, babe?

(2) Executive Jet: "I sold it up on EBay", she said. McCaint claims she sold it for a profit. Only problem is she didn't sell it on EBay (though she did list it there), and when her offline broker did finally manage to sell it, she lost the state $600,000 in the sale. Strike two, sweet cheeks.

And there are more lies. Already with the lying! Jeez, Sarah, wait until after you get into office to start these, ok? Then again, you are a politician without much experience, so I can forgive the rookie mistake. Make sure it doesn't happen again!

(3) McCain's campaign to decide whether or not they will let anyone interview Palin: Excuse me?! Aren't you supposed to get elected, then start forgoing/forstalling your press conferences, like Uncle George? There's no way in hell I'd ever vote for someone as President or Vice President without having them be submit to a public interview. How petty and non-Presidential is that? Very! That smacks of fear that something lies hidden, perhaps because the McBush campaign hasn't fully vetted her yet? Either way, the closeting of information makes it sound like the McCaint campaign thinks they're operating in the former Soviet Union. How completely foreign and un-American.  C'mon John, I know you're better than that!  Regain the integrity you once held so high, sir. Please.

before you so stupidly write false accusations or make accusations at least get your facts staight and at least come up with more damaging accusations wow

If you really open your ears and eyes you would have heard and seen what was written and  what she said.

She didn't say she sold it on ebay, she said she sold the plane, and isn't that the real more important issue,  yes she put the plane up on ebay and she said that in her speech, but she never actually said she sold it on ebay.

No bids came close and thus it never got sold, so she had to use a dealer and they took a loss, but selling that plane which would have been a far greater loss was a good idea. If she needs to fly, its way more cheaper to fly on an airline, just ask puff daddy. If I remember correctly that plane originally costed 2.5 million and they got 2 million on the sale of an used plane.  How many governors really have and need a private plane ? for what ? flights to europe ?

TheGarcipian  you look like a fool when you get your story twisted.

As to this bridge to no where whether she originally was for it or against it, what matters most is that she sided against a bad idea, and isn't the final decision the most important, how often do candidates, politicians, and people stubbornly continue with bad decisions. Was this bridge to no where really her idea ? come on ? did she start the project or did she end a bad project that was started by others ?

TheGarcipian  ask yourself why was Obama afraid to debate with Mccain.  Why would the otherwise articulate Obama decide against having townhalls and meeting with people and talking about issues having civil discussions and debates on where they stand.

Maybe such an event is beyond the pay grade of Obama ?

TheGarcipian  next time you place your own spin on words, double check, no one likes someone to get what they say wrong and than accuse them of lying, when in that the true lie is how someone can create falseness out of their own spin and twist on words.

Palin wasn't false or deceitful in her statements or speeches, as i'm sure you weren't deceitful, you just heard it differently.
