Woo-hoo! We're going to have a Windows7 launch party everyone! Won't that be fun??? This video has to be seen to be believed. I thought it was a spoof ... but it's real.
And we thought Mac users were the geeks? ;) [Just kidding!]
Are you kidding me, Microsoft? Do you really think something like this will work? Is your product so devoid of meaningful improvements that you need a groundswell of manufactured grassroots enthusiasm to brainwash your users? Do you really think that we have nothing more important to do with our free time than host a Windows launch party?
Congratulations, Microsoft ... you've earned yourself the inaugural honor of the first-annual Pathetic Marketing Scheme of the Year Award.
Has anyone else noted marketing efforts revealing an underlying tenor of desperation? Do you have nominees for runner-up or honorable mention? Surely, nothing could match the laughable idiocy of this launch campaign.
If I weren't a "Yes" man with no red thumbs, I'd be red-thumbing Microsoft right here, right now. Mark: $25.80
