My personal pet peeve of the day is related to spam, but not in the way that you think. Sure people who fill my inbox and fill messages message boards with thousands of messages about how to enlarge this, or how to get cheap meds, or that I have a message waiting for me from a hot secret admirer, or that there is millions of dollars in Nigerian funds that they need my help getting out of the country, or how there's a problem with "my bank account," or where to gamble (much like the annoying person who filled up the front page of the CAPS blog list with ads this morning) are annoying, but they really are not the problem here. No one would spam if there wasn't any economic incentive to do so.
The people who I have the problem with are the select few who are actually stupid enough to click through on spam ads or even worse even attempt to buy something like medication or increased manliness from these shysters. Who are the idiots who are making spamming economically viable? For the life of me I can't understand who would be stupid enough to fall for this garbage...but someone must because if no one did then they wouldn't do it. If you're smart enough to turn on a computer, you should be smart enough not to fall for this carp. Good grief.
On the bright side, there is a whole industry of people who mess with these spammers popping up out there. If you haven't seen the sites that some of the people who mess with the "419" I have millions of dollars that I need your help accessing scammers have put up, you need to check them out. They're hilarious. Here's a link to one of them:

This message doesn't have a lot to do with investing, but at least it helped push this annoying spam off of the CAPS front page :).
