HA! Good riddance. I was against this plan until I heard that.
No seriously, why do these charlatans always say that the government will have to raise taxes to pay for socialized medicine? All we have to do is shift budget priorities. Spend less money on prisons, less money on defense, and legalize pot. Providing health care is a social service. Giving everyone access, well, that should be a top priority for our government.
Schiff is more clueless than he realizes and if anything, is part of the problem. That is typical of these elite Wall Street types who are sheltered from the economic realities of this country. I hope Nader runs and wins that Senate seat.

No, I'm against the idea of an individual mandate. I suspect this will be a boon for insurance companies, assuming their lobbyists gut the public option (which you know they will find a way to do).
