Wow. No hitter in the playoffs

I don't care for baseball (I'm a football guy if anything) but I know there's atleast a few phillies fans out there

Did any of you guys participate in the riot, and if they win again are you going to?

Sorry to post a non investing blog, but that riot was the most fun thing ever, even though it was horrible and trashed the whole city and I think people died. Oh our city did something good, let's destroy it. That's philly for you

I was born in Philly, but didn't grow up there. Since my grandparents lived in Folsom, gardened in Swathmore, and went to church in West Chester, I was a little more familiar with the suburbs than the city.

My sports philosophy is simple. I would rather cheer on people I know than professional athletes that I may never meet and that may not even be that nice to know.

Sometimes riots can happen even when it isn't pro. I was attending a game at another small private college and our basketball team was beating them at their homecoming game by a bad margin. Some of the guys near my group were upset and starting pulling knives--that was our signal to leave. Crazy!

Have a good week. Don't forget to study. I'm rooting for you, Valyooo.

Haha, thanks. Also, I have the same sports philosophy as you (with the rooting for people I know, because I dont know the pro's). I like the jets, but the concept of a die hard fan makes no sense at all to me.

Knives at a basketball game-- that is crazy! Soccer games are worse too. I went to one pro soccer game ever, it was barcelona vs the ny redbulls. Not even a serious game, and a huge brawl broke out in the row right in front of me and I got covered in beer.

I think some people are out of touch with reality and think that the games are war and it is up to them to change the score if their team is losing. It was a little too exciting for me.

Your experience at the soccer game illustrates why it isn't good to wear new clothing to sporting events!

Now you know what it was like when Rome ruled the earth and there were games in the Collesium. People haven't changed that much.

I visited the Collesium a few months ago and was amazed because they had told me something like 300,000 people had died there...ridiculous.

I don't understand sports riots, unless of course, you have money on the games. Most of the teams' athletes aren't the home town with the exception of the World Cup/Olympic events.

Now on the other hand, I totally would understand a riot based on the stock market. I've owned Compton Petroleum the past couple of weeks now and am barely up on it in a rising market! Now THAT'S something to riot about!

Born and raised in Philly and spoke to many people at and around the game; barely any riots at all, just isolated to the usual pockets of drunk and beligerent people. Shouldnt' at all take away from the fact that that game was one of, if not the, most historic game in Phillies history.

What a way to start the playoffs.  I expected big things out of Doc Halladay, but he was insane last night.

I know, he was insane.  I used to work at the Phillies stadium, that was a fun job.

Oh and when I was talking about the riot, I meant when they won the series....and cars were flipped, girls taking their tops off, i even saw one guy running around Philly with a huge lamp for no reason.
