August 04, 2011 – Comments (30) | RELATED TICKERS: UAN , CERPQ , SDRL

Post your favorite stocks that are getting hammered by the ongoing market panic. Perhaps a brief explanation of what the company does as well.

SDRL (SeaDrill) - Ridiculous growth stock for a ridiculous price.

HGG (hhGregg) - Released poor earnings and getting slammed 16% today. Next few years look bright.

UAN (CVR Partners LP) - Released earnings yesterday. Also a great growth stock and a great way to get into the agro industry. Sweet payout.

KERX/AEZS - Topline cancer drug by December 2012? Averaging $4.50-$5.00 not too long ago.

CERP (Cereplast) - Bioplastics company (They designed the new bioplastics symbol). Will be profitable by year's end with explosive growth in Europe.

There's obviously a lot of things looking good today. Post yours below. Fool on!

I have been liking ARO all the way down from about 20. Looks better at 12.81 I guess... : )

STD now below 9.00!

I think everyone is too sick right now to ponder your post. I am full invested and bleeding profusely at the moment.

Yeah I JUST invested $2000 yesterday when my limits were triggered. I thought about making them lower, but they already seemed "really low". Just goes to show you can't time the markets.

All I can remind people is buy and hold. Don't fret over your portfolio or make any hasty decisions. Go take your dog for a walk. The market will bounce back eventually.

Here are a few that look good to me (in addition to ARO):

ENTR (Entropic Communications - 35% drop on downgrade)

SUNH (Sun Healthcare - 50% drop on fear of cuts)

NCIT (Government contractor - 40% drop on downgrade)

BZ (15% drop on earnings miss)

I just wish I had a few hundred bucks handy to get in before people wake up and realize these things are under-priced.

VCO - Wine sales will always hold steady or improve.

INTC - You know 'em, you might not like 'em, but a bottom priced stock. I just wish AMD was offering dividends...

RMCF - People will be depressed over the bad news. Chocolate will soothe their souls. And it goes great with the wine.

Anyone think this is more than just panic? I mean, the global economy doesn't look so good. I just wish we had a competent government.

Look at it this way, compared to the rest of the world, our markets are doing great. Of course, that could change in an hour or two.

I also bought some STD. I wanted to wait until it got under $8, but thought there was not much chance of that. If it does, I will buy more.

Have you looked at DCIX. I posted a blog on it this morning, but new ones were coming up so fast it got pushed away.

I have been buying like crazy for the past few days. Looks like I should have gone on vacation and started today.

No way to time the market, just be prepared to wash the blood off later.

El Paso Corporation (EP)   both an e&p nat gas co and pipeline co. in the USA and a little outside the US, but primarily US-based. All pipelines are US-based. Pulled back 9% today despite reported a huge earnings beat this morning. Got ripped by nat gas inventories and general Mr, Market sentiment today, This co. announced a spinoff of the e&p side from the pipeline by the EOY to unlock shareholder value, where they will pay a much higher dividend. Also just put on the Ruby Pipeline into effect, which will also help earnings.

Just check out the earnings release this a.m.

I agree with FCX and would add that many steel makers are on sale at half-price.  Wouldn't say that they can't go lower but many are selling at 8X backwards PE or less. i.e. TX and GGB.

SINA - hop on the train, it is moving again

CF - get that! Fertilizer, PE 11 or so. Zacks #1.

SDRL - bullish on oil and super dividend

RES - bullish on oil, good PE for oil service

REDF - pretty low right now, moving upo again (probably trading op here; investing op?)
