Power Company Disaster.

Two gophers were killed on impact and a family of rabbits was forced to evacuate an area of 25 feet around the fallen tower while workers came in to assess damages. The land under thas fallen tower will be unproductive due to soil compaction until such time as remediative rototilling can take effect. Sheep grazing nearby blamed Government intervention not the private company that installed the turbine.

In other news, the billions being spent in Japan due to the nuclear disaster will not be available to be spent on solar panels, or wind turbines. However in positive news the cost of the disaster will contribute to GDP and create hundreds of new jobs dealing with its damage.

Best wishes,

Steven

That wouldn't have happened to a Verticle Wind Turbine

So what do you do for baseload when you have below freezing temps, calm and overcast? Tell people they are SOL and no power?

Even Stewart Brand (of Whole Earth Catalog fame) has gone over to nuke.

Why do you think they call it "SOLar" power!

C'mon chk999, you're a smart guy. You can solve that if you want to.
