WE ARE GOING TO NEED A LOT OF TENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Late to arrive in the Northeast, the foreclosure crisis has swept through the New York region at an explosive pace in the past two years, destroying billions of dollars in housing wealth, according to a New York Times analysis of foreclosures filed since 2005 and federal mortgage data.

It now touches every corner of the region, from estates along the Connecticut Gold Coast to the suburban tracts of Long Island, where 6 percent of all mortgages are at least 90 days delinquent, the point at which foreclosure proceedings usually begin.

Wall Street Journal: Americans Clash With Immigrants Over Job Openings

Now, with U.S. unemployment at a 25-year high, they are also fiercely
coveted. American workers -- who for years have largely avoided fruit
-picking, office-cleaning and meat-processing shifts -- are increasingly
vying for these jobs with immigrants, creating flashpoints in places like
Shelbyville, Tennesse. The rising friction has been on display at the
employment center here. When Tyson put out a call for applications, in
February, shoving and cursing broke out between locals and immigrants
jockeying for position at the head of the line. With too few jobs to go
around, outraged locals demanded that the work go to residents . . .

Alstry knew that. Alstry was just testing you to see if *you* knew that, and you passed his clever test. Congratulations.  You do know that Alstrynomics is all about being right, right? Why don't you come on in and join us at the institution...errrr I mean the Institute of Alstrynomics? Don't be afraid, we're all prepared.

Then they came for the government workers, and I did not speak out--

Then they came for the students, and I did not speak out--

Then they came for the white collar workers, and I did not speak out--

Just who do you believe your audience really is?

I suspect that the majority of the fools that read your blog will not be a part of any tent city.  You're preaching to the WRONG demographic, imo.

Yes I would like to know too what is to be done to "prepare".  I'm making or have already made several moves recently to limit my exposure to potential for debt and adverse impact on my income but should worse come to worst I'm sure I won't be living in a tent.  I live in a northern city where living in a tent is neither practical or realistic.

Like jddubya I don't think that the majority of people in the US or even a large minority will be living in tents while millions of structures (homes, malls etc.) sit empty, but that aside, there are probably things that could be done to limit the average person's negative experience or down side exposure should the things that you are predicting come to pass.  So what are they?

Inquiring minds really would like to know.

Oh, I get it Alstry.  I really do.  I read your blogs as well as pay attention that all else that goes on around me.

My point is something like this:

 - The average recs you've received per blog is an infintesmal percentage of the entire U.S. population.

- In fact, the TOTAL number of active bloggers here on MF is an infintesmal percentage of the entire U.S. population.

 - The average rec'r/MF'r, imo, already understands the dire predicament that the entire U.S. population is in.

- Your belief that you are helping others is GREAT!  However, as I said before, you're preaching to the wrong demographic.  AND, the populace of this demographic, combined with the volume of information you've provided makes this arena as about as much as a dead horse as can be beaten.  The other 99.999% of the U.S. population that are not hearing your screams are the ones you should aspire to reach.

jd,

As Alstry sees it, there is no inconsistency beween your quote in #21 and my statement in #20.

Alstrynomics is all about being consistent in perspective until that perspective changes.

Nothing has changed to date as it relates to Alstry's or the Institute's goal furthering investors helping investors to beat the market.

As far as calling a TOP at 8300...remember there is always a 5-10% margin of fluctuitive action to any MAJOR top call....based on my most recent calculations....we were still well within the fluctuitive margin of error.

jd, there is no need to appologize for your failure to see the facts.....

remember...Alstrynomics is all about being right and helping investors beat the market.

vapoly01 has it right up in # 15!  Camping rocks.

Alstry, why should we live in tents?  Are there going to be less houses?  Or more people?  Does asltrynomics not take into account supply and demand? Or are you really imagining a future where things are so bad that no-one has a job, the banks own all of the houses, lock them up and won't let us sleep in them?  Not even sleep in them?!  That would be so heartless of the banks.

On the plus side, I already own a tent, and have some savings, and rent my current abode, so hopefully even if everyone loses their job and has no income, I should still be able to find some bank-owned (or otherwise) place to rent to live (should be really cheap if no-one has any income).  And if worse really comes to worst I can live in my tent.  I'll just have to carry it south for the winters.

Haven't you ever seen "It Happened on Fifth Avenue"?  We simply go break into empty houses and live there quietly while avoiding the police.  This should be very easy in California as the lack of services and soaring tax rates on non-illegals will drive them to other states, leaving only illegals and house liver-iners in the nice warm state.
