While I have expected all economies to slow down significantly for some time, I have been of the position that US will not fair so well because of the gross level of debt.  I have no doubt that Canada will be hard hit and have serious economic problems but longer term we are in a much better financial position. 

Now it seems that other countries are catching on to how serious the US debt problem is.  Yves picked up on an article about preventing panic selling of US debt among the various nations the US owes, China, Japan...

Silly fools, first guy going heading for the door does the best...

TBT is an ultrashort of US Treasuries.  Be careful of counterparty risk with all these ultrashort ETFs though.
