I've mentioned before that it saddens me to login and see the inevitable "Turfscape is losing to the market today". But, man-oh-manischewitz, does it drive me nuts to be beating the market and still degrade from the white fool hat to the propeller beanie!

I'm filled with a sense of shame and confusion...I need to go lie down for a while.

-Turf (who doesn't actually monitor his CAPS score much, nor work hard to change/improve it).

Well if you don't really monitor or work at it then why do you care? Just kidding.  Took me a long time to climb out of the beanie zone.  And yes it took alot of work.  But I learned alot in the process.  Thats why I took the more honorable of not starting a new account just so I could make all-star status.

For you, if you really put some due diligence into your picks and executed a solid strategy, you never know, in six months you could be rated in the 90s.  So theres no need to fret. Just dont get into the bad habit of closing losing picks. Once I started doing that I never recovered.

I just saw the cutest toy beanie cap at IKEA. They also had a jester's cap.

However, I think a seed cap from Tractor's Supply is more wearable than either:)

Wear the virtual beanie with pride. You are so much more than your score.

Turf,

If I can give you hope. I've been from 98 to somewherw low single digit (so low I chose not to remember), back to wherever I am now (70's?) over the course of two plus years. Heck Sinchi went from 90's to <20, back to high nineties. It can be done.

If I learned one thing, its stand your ground. Trading on Caps can be brutal to your score. Sure dump real losers and specualtive's, but ride a lot out. Don't try to "fix" your score by trying all sorts of new "tricks"

OoF, good for you, sticking to your account. Your posts/comments add value enough, no need for a higher score!

HA!  When I first read the title of your post I mistakenly thought it read "Bennie" rather than "Beanie".  I thought it was going to be a post about Helicopter Ben!

Thanks for the hope, all. As an investor, I am VERY much buy-and-hold. I don't track a lot of stocks in CAPS, but I'll add a new one every now and again if I'm considering it for my real-world portfolio. So, I don't take my score to seriously. But it's still fun to see that hat change from beanie, to white fool, to the various colors.

I wonder, though, if we could change the "Turfscape is losing to the market today" to something a little less critical...like "Turfscape tries hard, and I'm sure he'll start pulling ahead soon. After all, tomorrow is another day."

;P

So, today I log in to see the inevitable "Turfscape is losing to the market today"...but the beanie is gone and my white fool hat is back!

I...I just don't know how to feel. I'm kinda proud, kinda sad...I'm prad.
