Question for an Israeli/non-American:

Recs

April 11, 2011 – Comments (5) | RELATED TICKERS: EIS , TEVA , CEL

How do you broker your stocks?  Most of the American brokerages are closed to foreigners.  Is there a cheap brokerage that an Israeli can use to be able to buy and sell Israeli, American, and foreign stocks?

Are there any legal differences that I should be aware of?

Should I get my stocks in certificate or is it okay to get a virtual certificate?

Thanks

Interactive Brokers is probably your best choice.

A lot of other brokers providing services actually trade through IB's system and professional traders use their systems for trading internationally.

Actually it looks pretty expensive for a small time guy like me.

MB Financial looks like the best bet.  ETrade doesn't allow Israelis to trade, probably because they want to market to Arabs.
