Take a look of FORD eps growth from 2010-2011

Its at 80% growth

0.80 eps in 2010

1.40 eps in 2011

Just when you looked the other way, FORD has turned it around in a major way.

Terrible news for Toyota. This just keeps getting worse and worse for them, and these news reports are not going away any time soon.

This might turn into an opportunity to buy some TM cheap. This is just an annoyance, not lethal. Buy when people panic, sell when they are exultant.

Chris - long TM and drives an '03 Prius

Now the Prius is looked upon as being a civilization saving death trap? May I borrow a cup of irony for this one?

chk - I too have been considering this as a buying opportunity.  Nothing I've heard of the recall sounds like it will be anything more than a passing phase.  It certainly hasn't changed my consumer opinion on Toyota at all.  Waiting to see how low it will go.  But I am beginning to suspect that waiting for the price to drop much lower would just be greedy.

It already is helping Ford, look at the increase in eps estimates yesterday. Calling for more than a double increase in eps in March Qtr at .28 eps, it was at .13 eps just a couple of days ago.

Also the full year went from .55 eps to .80 eps for 2010

The 2011 eps estimates also were raised from 1.14 eps to $1.40 eps.
