Hello gang.
It's been a little while since I penned something here (can I say penned when what I'm writing involves no ink or paper?), so I figured I'd jot down just a few lines.
First, I noticed that I am, for the moment, Top Fool once again. I'm writing this to preserve the moment as much as for any other reason because, to be frank, I wasn't sure that recapturing that crown would ever again be within my grasp. I'm still in awe of the fact that I even made it to the top spot for as much as 5 minutes given the caliber of the investors that share their insights with us daily here on CAPS.
The weekend was a good one - aside from the fact that Little Eldrehad made her first trip to the emergency room. She's just fine - though we're not sure exactly what happened. You see, she just loves to help Daddy mow the lawn (she has a little toy lawn mower she runs around the lawn whenever I'm mowing - and loves to help sweep the grass clippings off the sidewalk too). Since I was using the string trimmer I told her she had to wear her sunglasses if she wanted to help (lest the string trimmer throw some piece of debris into one of her eyes - Big Eldrehad wears safety glasses for the same reason).
Anyway, as near as we can decipher from Little Eldrehad's recounting, it was some kind of big crash made at a full sprint involving her, the screen door, and her sunglasses. Maybe the door pushed the glasses into her face, or maybe she fell and the floor did, or maybe... well... we'll just never know. What we do know is that the inch-long cut above her eye required six very small stitches.
Again, though, she's perfectly fine. Of course there was a bit of drama at the ER when the medical staff had to wrap her up like a mummy so her little arms and legs wouldn't flail around as the doctor was trying to fix her up. One great thing about soon-to-be four year olds, though, is that they generally live in the moment (I can stand to learn a little more along those lines from her, but I'm slowly catching on), and as soon as the drama was over and we were out of the ER, the entire incident was pretty much forgotten (at least by her).
Speaking of medical stuff, I'm doing just fine myself. I'll get the results back from my latest round of routine imaging/tests this coming Friday - but so far everything keeps coming back clear - and I expect this latest round to be no different.
On a side note, the MSN Strategy Lab is also a lot of fun, and so far I'm holding up pretty well over there too. If your interested and haven't headed over there yet, you can find it here.
Anyway, I think that's enough rambling for one day. Have fun out there!
Regards,
Russell (TMFEldrehad)
