No shorting is going to cause a market crash.
Xpert - Thanks for the post, and I respect all of your contributions here. Can you please provide more information as to why you believe this is the case? If we are to believe all of the news headlines, this plan will be the saving grace of the economy, although that's not saying that I believe all the hype.
That's a gutsy call, I believe in it, but the banking sector has been so volatile. At most I'll hedge, go even long/short....
Speaking of shorting I had a crazy event occur in my real life portfolio today which I figure you may have some experience to share, please help if you can. Not sure what I should do.
I threw up my question minutes ago here:
I agree 100% unfortunately. I may not be the smartest guy out there or the best player on CAPS but I know trouble when I see it. And this is biggest trouble I have ever seen in the equities my opinion

Good luck getting the down payment for your house GMX.
China banned shorting last year and their stock market tanked from 6000 to nw 2000, which is a 66% correction.
I dont understand why they would want to ban shorting...it removes liquidity and in the end will just result in panic selling....we shouldve seen 1100 on the s&p and bottomed and uyg at 14.4. Trust me that's the bottom but now it might be a bigger crash...just from experience. Guess you just have to be on the right side of the trade.
