November 22, 2013 – Comments (3) | RELATED TICKERS: CHTR , TWC

I am not pessimistic or optimistic about wallstreet, but I see the repeat of 2000/2001 period.

Message from net:Shares of Time Warner Cable (TWC) are active in premarket trading after Charter Communications (CHTR) keeps hacking away at putting together a deal to buy the cable player.

CHTR is 13.6B company taking over TWC 37.13B.

It reminds me No 4, worldcom company taking over No2 company MCI. Later stuggling andgoing to bankruptcy part etc.

TWC has repeatedly told CHTR they are not interested. I don't think this deal is very likely.

More likely CHTR does a deal with CVC, Cox or another smaller player.

The part which is quite different from 2000 is that Malone exited TCI then, whereas now he is in acquisition mode.

Comcast bidding for TWC is understandable http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/11/22/us-comcast-timewarnercable-idUSBRE9AL0OR20131122

But, CHTR getting loan and bidding for bigger company is risky that may result bankruptcy (we never know).

Same mistake like MCI worldcom deals. Anyway, we need to wait and see.
